Fireside II
It is to the Village Square that the townspeople come to exchange views and thoughts on their beloved spiritual philosophy, learning from each other in kindness and wisdom. Then when their minds have been filled, they retire to the tavern on the western side of the square where they share in social discussion, learning of each other’s events and challenges, happinesses and sometimes sadnesses, too. With a mug or glass in hand, they collect in front of the great Fireplace that dominates the long wall. Benches and chairs are often filled on market day with those who have come from farther away, bringing news of events and views the local people delight in hearing.
If you are feeling disoriented by all the philosophical talk by the fountain in the Village Square, then come sit down on the bench here with us for a while just to soothe your mind and share a mug of tea or coffee. Let’s all make sure the conversation is quiet and simple, caring and thougtful, exactly the kind of talk you might have around a warm hearth, the only light filling the room coming from the fireplace.
Hi and love to all – I’m from Chicago, Annie and leaving for Temecula as we speak!!!!
Thanks for checking in “Annie”. No point in trying to correct little patients-they’re, well they are so little (: Makes me think of lil Winnie. Hello Winnie.
Last night a waitress that has been waiting on us for years at the Hamburger Hamlet turned to my husband saying ” and how are you doing Matt”. Well for those who don’t recall his name is Mark. After she left Mark said she’s done that before. I figured since he has let it slide I will start calling him Matt when we’re at the restaurant. Probably should shake things up a bit just to keep it fresh.
Hey love the new gravatar-very groovy Anne. By the way did you record the “Blue Dot Interview” on your flip camera or was that Winnie? I think the Village would so enjoy that recording (unedited). I would love to see it again. Please send to Bernard so he can post it here at the site.
It’s supposed to be hot hot hot today (90’s). Hope Melody packed lite now after I told her to bring a sweater.
And Michele hugs right backatcha. Love when you stop by and shower us with your happiness.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Happy travels and I swear your post was not there when I opened the site!
Windy City that’s right! Happy you are on your way.
Annie
Reading my favorite comics to breakfast: Stephen Pastis “Pearls before Swine”
Pig and Rat sit beside each other on bar-stools with a cup of tea. Rat tells his house-mate and friend Pig: “All my problems have to do with the people I know. I need to get rid of these problems.” Pig turns his friendly face to Rat and asks, “Do you have any ideas?” and Rat pushes Pig off the bar-stool. Rat looks at Pig on the floor and says, “that’s all I have for now.”
{ giggling at Nina`s comic book excerpt} {still giggling}
Oh it was a treat to come here this morning and read all the many and varied posts from my beloveds { gives Bernie a huge big squeezey hug for making it all possible }
Michele la Belle big hugs to you ! Like you i don`t have time to check out the youtube video but agree that i will probably be joining the ranks of the OMGodders too.
Melody how exciting… { starts singing “Oh the Deadwood stage is a-rollin` all over the plains, with the curtains flappin` and the driver slappin` the reins…..a beautiful sky !… a wonderful day….Whip crack-away…Whip crack-away…Whip crack- awaaayy”}
Texanne – i love your new gravatar [and you}
Hello Annie {waves} big hugs to you and “Matt”..tee hee….
I went all niggy wig when i read about the sweet conversation with your dad…so glad..
love to everyone xoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxo
Hi my dear friends, just come to say hello and sip a cup of Pam’s catnip’s tea, mmm so delicious. Michele, Nina, Annie, Anne, Winnie,Melody,lots of people drinking catnip’s tea. My little cookie cat is all envious now. Melody, guau! you are just now in front of Ken. We want a picture of you both. Michele big hugs and love to you too. And Anne how cool is your new gravater, I like it a lot.
A great weekend for you all.
Lots of hugs
Lisi
OOooo a picture of Jean and Melody for the village photo album would be cool and notes from both of you to add to the Temecula page, if you’re up to it.
Out on the square Annie requested a followup to Nina’s Pearls before Swine comic. I would like to know if there is a follow up in todays Norge paper also. Annie was wondering if Rat would feel guilty for pushing pig off his stool. In the mean time I googled the comic and found a “pearl” that might answer that but I still want to know todays follow up also.
the one I found…..Goat Rat And Pig sitting at lunch counter…GOAT to rat- Do you ever worry that your ego’s a little inflated and that you’ll die without learning humility? RAT- No. Because it’s not true. GOAT-It’s not ture that you have a big ego? RAT- That I die. I think my immortality precludes it. GOAT(looking away)You might have a big ego. RAT(whispering to pig)Is the mortal still talking?
Ohhh the laughter feels gooooood 🙂
Thanxs Pam and lets have some ice tea now and find some more jokes!
I never know where to post what.
The gravitar – I don’t look like myself these days,
so I changed it up.
I sent the “Mayor” the video clip you asked for –
The one with Winnie…
So my work here is done! (As they say…)
Stay cozy!
With a dash of lemon juice and cranberry muffins.(-:
About follow-up on Pearls: Rat is NEVER feeling guilty. Today pig sends rat invitations to be friends on facebook, and Rat rejects all of them – until Pig(at rat’s proposal) asks rat to accept as friend ” a Fatsy I know”. That is accepted, and Pig is in heaven and embraces Rat and tells him that this is his most meaningful relationship –
seriously, buying a book of these cartoons teaches you a LOT that therapy never does – and Pastis is also so outrageusly original in his thinking
yum Cranberry muffins and more giggles from the antics of Goat, Rat and Pig………… made with cranberries you picked from the farm no doubt Pam….
Well today`s the day – that i leave the farm. I`m all packed and ready to go. It`s a wild wet and windy day, so unlike Qld, but it really doesn`t worry me.
Some of my family have gone camping for a few days and i am due to join them today and from there i will continue my travels…I feel an enormous sense of freedom and lightness and a huge willingness to embrace whatever i may encounter….and i am not just talking about forgiveness opportunities.
I want to go over the hills to romp and play. I won`t be online for a few days but am leaving lots of big fat hugs and kisses for all xoxoxooxox
Winnie, all the best for your trip. We will be thinking of you everyday, and waiting for your news to arrive. It will be a great trip Home.
Lots of fat, big hugs and lots of love,
Lisi
Winnie, are you off and traveling, then? I’ve read all about Tamborine mountain and hope you can check in from internet cafes along the way. It will be a brilliant tour of Australia for us all. (I loved John Steinbeck’s Travels with Charlie – a trip thru the Southern US during the 60’s. You have the same love of people and eye for customs that he had.)
I’m loving the notes picking up where I had to take off. Joy and gratitude lighting your way on your journey. I join Annie with the perfect wish, “Godspeed”!
Hello my beautiful darlings ….. It`s taken me all this time to be able to get online…..I`m a-gonna order a thingummy for my laptop so i can plug it to the solar thingumyy and get an internet thingummy so then i will be able to stay more easily in contact.
I`m staying at the Bunya Mountains, a most beautiful rainforested mountain…..Today i have come to the local library, so i can get on the internet, at Kingaroy, which is the nearest town, famous for peanuts but dagnammit i forgot my notes…. We`re still only on Thursday….. {goes off to get notes} xoxoxoxooxox
p.s. apologies for awful syntax
You Rock, Winnie!
About not taking anything serious…last night I had a dream where i was completely and totally outrageously silly for a lo-o-ong time. It felt like heaven – like being carried by wings, flying, laughing uproariously about it all, that all that I take seriously is SOOOO not, and the feeling of just playing in this intensely silly way without caring how it looked by by-standers —mmmm scrumptious.
Winnie!!!!How beautiful you are starting your trip. I am going to try to find some photos of the Bunya Mountains, I want to know where you are singing and dancing. Great that your are going to order an internet thingummy, that way we are going to follow you step by step.
Lots of love
Great dream Nina! Good reminder: do not take anything of this world seriously!
Hugs to all
guess what? guess what? guess what ? …. I bought an internet thingummy AND i figured out how to install it …..okay well i didn`t really figure it out (looks sheepish) the internet manny over the phone told me what to do but still – i think i`m very clever that it`s working and i get to join my beloved on this Easter Sunday…. Happy Easter to all ! .. I`m sure you`ll get lots of eastery eggs – well you should …coz i didn`t get any…On the other hand that mighta been the Easter bunny i squished on the road yesterday….just kidding – tee hee xoxoxooxoxox
lovely dream Nina dear and so timely.
I’ve been working allllll day on a huge surprise for you all, but I’m stuck!!! It’s taking all my tiny neuron capacity to work it out. Please be patient, some fun things are in the works!
Call for help! Does anyone know anything about uploading to youtube (there’s a big hint, I tell ya)?? It just ain’t working.
Bernard, If you put -how to upload to youtube -in youtube’s search bar you will find youtube videos that show you how to do it. A lot of youtubers are very genourous with how to tips on just about any subject.
Well, I spent a lot of time getting all sorts of different advice, but no matter what I do, the 10 minute video I want to put up (70O mb)is going to take 6 hours to upload! And I have several – that’s the hitch, the upload speed. Then there’s plenty of advice for converting to different format (avi,flv, etc) and none seem to do the trick. So I’m still in .wmv format. There’s even a function on youtube itself for uploading ‘multiple files’ but the screen I get in French isn’t the same as the one in English and basically doesn’t give me anything more than the normal upload options. I’ll just have to take the long road and it’ll be finished some time next year!
Well!! That’s a fine kettle of ego insanity. There has got to be a better way of doing a “celestial” up-load! You have my deepest electronic computer gizmo ,soooo not intuitive-software, sympathy. {{{{Bernard}}}}}
This is just me…. but…..
I have a Mac and if it can be done – I don’t know how!
So I go to You Tube and upload from there….
I don’t even try to send it from my machine.
Works every time.
We have lift off, Villagers! Creation of the “videos” page. My first video is to share with you my thanks for a fabulous first year. Happy Birthday, everyone! Then I couldn’t resist doing something on our recent subject of ‘mental cannibalism’. So I took you all on my daily morning ‘cannibal’ doggy walk through the countryside here, eating up all the beautiful sights and sounds. There was surprise encounter with a dastardly ‘peace-of-God’ destroying tractor which provided an interesting counterpoint to the discussion. Enjoy! And thanks again!
Am leaving to bbsit my three grandchildren for the day, but look forward with happy anticipation to seeing and getting into this wonderful surprise!
Thank you so much Bernard – and all of you!
Happy Anniversary!
With Love and Gratitude,
melody
What a lovely video!!!
The day looked gorgeous, the back drop serene and you Bro in that fine white linen shirt calling us all together~ well it felt so right so good!!!
Cheers and many many thanks for all your kindnesses.
xoxoxo Annie
I laughed, I cried tears of happy gratitude, I laughed some more. {{{Hugs Whole Village}}} A toast to Heaven and my wonderful village family that travels on this journey as some of my mighty companions. clink,clink,clink, Cheers. Cory can have some as soon as he gets out of bed.(-:
I welled up too Pam! Just warmed my heart and I swear it wasn’t the bubbly stuff.
{{{Hugs Whole Village Too}}}
Heads up for internet explorer users the video page it self is glitched in IE. It works with firefox though. I sent the mayor an e-mail and I’m sure he will un-glitch it soon.(-:
I HOPE I can unglitch it soon! What the heck…? Just when I thought I had worked out all the problems? It means there’s some code in there that conforms to FF but not IE – go figure which part! I’ll see what I can do…
Bernard – what a lovely and friendly walking-through what cannibalizing is! now i see it as trying to fill myself up with something material to avoid filling myself up with Love…am I getting closer?
and clingg! in the cider too. Great taste – and so wonderful to be in that circle with you all.
LOVe from Nina
THAT IS IT! Just perfectly said, “It’s like trying to fill myself up with something material to avoid filling myself up with Love!” Now, why couldn’t I have just said that one line instead of 40 minutes worth of stuff?
Happy Birthday village people –
three cheers for the Mayor.. hip hip hooray…X3
what a blessing this village is.
all my love to you,
comrade Richard
Hey Richard! High fives and hugs.
Hello beloveds – have no time to play with balloons, eat cake or even leave hugs……. wait !… i DO have time to leave lots and lots of loving hugs xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxox
Cheers to everyone, thank you Bernard, your video was heartwarming. I, too, am on the road and waving as I pass thru this warm tavern crew!
xooxxoooxxooxxoo all around.
What a great toast, Bernard! I was there! Happy Anniversary and many more!
Cheers to your great video! Well done! And to everyone a toast to the Village. May this next year be all the same.
Hugs!
Laura TS
Bernard, to #686: “It’s like trying to fill myself up with something material to avoid filling myself up with Love!” …this essence came to me after I had enjoyed walking three videos with you, and toasted our Village-community. These videos, and the others comments, were exactly what I needed to get to that. See, what I enjoy is exactly the feeling that when reading/listening to your words, the love comes pouring through and between the lines and the spaces between – it feels like picking beautiful flowers, the B-scent – and when I see the flowers as a bouquet, there’s the essence
thank you all of you for taking all that time!
love
Nina
Beautifully put, Nina – thank you – my sentiments exactly…..
🙂
oh yes i agree with Melody and Bernie – that is beautifully put Lil Nin…..
big hugs to comrade Richard xoxox
……..
Not to change the subject but my new hero is the Easter Bunny. He just sits there smiling uncomplainingly while i nibble his lovely chocolatey-velvet ears. I don`t want to eat him coz he looks so cute`n all and besides i`m a nice person…( looks on his dear little innocent face and form so perfectly cute…. breathes deeply of his enchanting smell}
Oh God I can`t take it anymore! ….( bites of his ears – first one – then the other…bits of bunny flesh fall over the place but still he has that nauseatingly sweet smile ) Damm you Easter Bunny – Damm you to hell ! (frantically bites off his mouth and triumphantly wipes the sickening smile off his face!) ( looks around to make sure that no one is watching )……… tee hee
I love you…… probably transference …… but I love me some Winnie!
Dearest Comrades, so good to be home in the village for a day, its not often i get a chance to sit in the tavern, or stroll through the village square, mostly i am on contract work miles away from the village, however word always gets through to me of the love been shared here in our wonderful abode. Great to see that Mr Mayor has his own TV series on cannibalism, cannibalism is illegal in most parts of the world so i am glad to see the Village has a very liberal attitude towards the subject, reminds me of my time in Amsterdam where my cannibal consumption was rife.
I had the oddest dream the other night.
Bernard, Gary Renard and I were at the controls of a super-sonic jet, which none of us knew how to fly, it was increasing with speed by the second and we were all becoming increasingly fearful, each eyeing each with worried smiles and quiet panic, then from behind a curtain at the cockpit entrance came a chinking noise of rattling glasses, it got closer and closer until – swish went the curtain – and in strolls Ken, pushing a drinks trolly and beaming a big trade mark Wapnick smile, needless to say Bernard, Gary and myself all cracked up laughing at the crazy idea we were ever in danger…strange… well i am off for wander (derive) through the village see whats cooking, ….Hi Pam high 5 indeed, to the side, to the other side, down below, uh oh your to slow….X… now lets sneak up on Winnie and find out how she did that incredible note taking..
all possible peace comrades…X
What a great Monday morning stroll thru the Village that Normandy cider is still doing its magic!
{{{Richard}}} Slow is an asset with hugs.(-;
Ohhh, now that’s a dream I can get into. So cool. Many thanks, Richard, for channeling that one. I owe you. Now, where did you say that plane was headed? What out for all that cannibal stuff in Amsterdam. Too much consumption can get you dreaming weird things. Is that what…?
Guess who’s heading off to Temecula this month? It’s final, Bernie and Pat are winging their way over from the Village-France to the Village-Temecula to catch up on 10 year’s of absence from the Foundation. I’m not sure if anyone will be over there except for Jean. I’ve made contact with Annie (always the amazingly generous host!) and Zafu (so looking forward to dinner together), and we’ll be meeting up with both of them. What fun! I’d like to think I’m going to take a ton of notes, but… I think I’m just going to zone out, not believing I’m actually there. I’ll get the Holy Spirit to channel them to me directly afterward. He can come in handy that way sometimes, getting me out of a fix.
Where’s Winnie’s post on eating the Easter bunny? I wanted to say that I found myself hysterically laughing and choking on fear at the same time! What a strange mix – it was like a comedy horror show, I think they call them ‘splash’ films where there’s blood everywhere, but it’s so obvious and gross that you can’t take it seriously. I wonder if she got indigestion. Doubt it.
